Finding an image that relates to body image is hard, due to the fact half of the ones I see on social media are of half-naked women, which is super empowering don’t get me wrong, but not that appropriate for this assignment. I think this child-like illustration is really powerful along with the quote. People who struggle with body image issues tend to think they look at the complete opposite of the reality of what they look like. It’s not this easy to love yourself, especially if social media has taken a toll on that, but it’s all on the individual to come to terms with “coming home” in relation to just being yourself.

When looking for images in relation to my topic of social media and body image, I came across this piece of illustrated art by @happygirljourney. The image of the girl standing in the mirror is what stood out to me as well as the quote. Personally, I think more artwork like this should be posted on social media to remind girls in particular that what they look like on the outside is not what’s important and how people view you, it’s all about the personality when it comes to an individual.
