Body Positivity is what we need more of on social media. As I'm researching this topic all semester about how social media affects body image, I came across this account on the platform TikTok, Imedieitly fell in love with the artwork that this individual, whom pronouns are identified as “they/them” have created and shared for the world to see. I recently have found their Instagram where the animated videos turned into beautifully illustrated pictures of reminders to love yourself, mental health checkpoints, and positive body image messages. I wanted to tie this in within my topic because all of the body image issues girls like me and millions of other individuals face can play a toll on one's everyday life. By watching these animated little videos and pictures truly makes me smile and know that whatever I'm going through, whether it is about body image or just issues going on throughout my day that it’s going to be okay. This individual has also discussed their issues with body image, making it inspiring for other individuals like myself. As an ally and supporter of the LGBTQ community, this individual inspires me every day to be as confident in themselves as I should in myself, and their artwork has made little positive affects on my day, and with the following Wednesday is gaining, they will help millions of other individuals facing not just body image issues, but mental health issues related to social media have a more positive outlook on themselves.
